GEBBERS WAY
BETTER FRUIT BEGINS WITH A BETTER LOCATION
There’s an excellent reason why Gebbers Farms operates throughout North Central Washington. The fertile land in this region offers prime growing conditions for our sweet, late-season cherry crops and delightfully delicious apple varieties. Nestled in the foothills of Washington’s North Cascade Range, in the highlands of the Lake Chelan basin, and along the northern reaches of the Columbia River, our strategic locations are key to growing fruit with superior crunch, sweetness, and cosmetic appeal. Quite simply, at Gebbers Farms we grow where we can produce the highest quality and best-tasting apples, cherries, and pears.
SUPERIOR GROWING CONDITIONS
To grow consistently fresh, high quality fruit, we begin at the beginning where and when the growth happens – in the orchards. After choosing the ideal geographic location, Gebbers Farms’ agricultural engineers sculpt the land to make it even more perfect for growing fruit. Gebbers Farms orchards are very deliberately designed to provide the most efficient drainage, take the greatest advantage of the angle of seasonal sunlight, utilize optimal wind direction and frost control, and to include state-of-the-art irrigation systems and maximum access for equipment and harvesting crews. All of this combines to work with nature, every day of every year to help each of our crops thrive from seed to harvest.
THE LONGER THE SEASON THE SWEETER THE HARVEST
The higher elevations in North Central Washington, especially in the Chelan and Brewster areas, make for a long growing season and are ideal growing locations for their cooler nights and sunny, dry days. These conditions work together to produce the best growing conditions for sweet, fresh, high-quality Gebbers Farms apples, cherries, and pears.
